I am a child & adolescent and adult psychiatrist who treats individuals with anxiety, depression, ADHD, and eating disorders. My clinical work is grounded in evidence-based treatments supported by over a decade of psychiatric research, including more than 20 peer-reviewed publications. As a researcher, I study how individuals' traits influence intelligence, school performance, and mental health, and how interventions—including mindfulness training, neuromodulation, and medications—can promote positive change. I supervised the Korean translation of the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, 5th Edition (DSM-5), reflecting my deep knowledge of a broad range of psychiatric illnesses.
While my foundation is evidence-based medicine, I believe the most important aspect of psychiatry is listening to the stories individuals carry. It was this curiosity about people's stories that inspired me to become a psychiatrist. I am passionate about walking alongside those who feel lost, helping them transform uncertainty into understanding.
For those new to psychiatry and looking for treatment options, we can work together to find the right approach for you. While I can prescribe medication to help alleviate symptoms, we can also incorporate or first try lifestyle changes and psychotherapy, such as talk therapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy, and supportive therapy.
