Do you offer complimentary consultations?
Yes, a 15-minute phone consultation is available at no charge. This consultation allows for a preliminary discussion of your concerns, an opportunity to address any questions about the practice, and an assessment of whether the practice aligns with your needs.
What mental health conditions are addressed in this practice?
Comprehensive care is offered for adults, adolescents, and children experiencing a variety of mental health conditions. This includes, but is not limited to, depression, anxiety disorders, panic attacks, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), trauma-related disorders, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), sleep difficulties, and personality disorders. Services also extend to individuals seeking support for stress management, life transitions, grief, and relationship or occupational challenges, regardless of formal diagnosis.
What is the duration of sessions?
Initial psychiatric evaluations typically require two one-hour sessions for adults, and three one-hour sessions for children and adolescents. Follow-up appointments are tailored to clinical needs and may last either 30 or 45 minutes. Psychotherapy sessions are generally scheduled for 45 minutes.
Are appointments available in-person or virtually?
Appointments are offered both virtually and in person in Midtown Manhattan on weekends, and virtually on weekday afternoons.
What should patients anticipate during the initial appointment?
An intake questionnaire will be provided prior to the first session to help structure the assessment. The psychiatric evaluation sessions focus on a thorough review of your mental health history, current concerns, treatment goals, and any relevant collateral information.
Following the evaluation, we will discuss potential treatment options—including medication, therapy, or a combination—collaboratively. I typically provide treatment recommendations at the end of the psychiatric evaluation sessions. However, you are not required to make a decision immediately. Some patients arrive with a clear preference, while others prefer to explore their options with an open mind. Together, we will develop a treatment plan—whether medication, therapy, or both—that best fits your needs.
Is medication required as part of treatment?
Medication is not a requirement. Treatment recommendations are individualized, and if patients prefer not to pursue pharmacological interventions, alternative options such as psychotherapy, coaching, and lifestyle modification can be explored.
What forms of psychotherapy do you provide?
Psychotherapeutic approaches are selected based on clinical needs and preferences, and may include supportive psychotherapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). The choice of modality will be determined in consultation with each patient.
Do you accept health insurance?
This practice is not an in-network provider with any insurance plans but supports patients in using their out-of-network benefits. Most patients receive 50–80% reimbursement of session fees after meeting their plan’s deductible.
Payment is required through the patient portal at the time of the appointment. Afterward, you may request a superbill or invoice to submit to your insurance for reimbursement. Reimbursify is available to simplify claims submission and tracking. I will also provide all necessary documentation..
To understand your coverage, contact your insurance provider’s member services and ask about:
Your out-of-network deductible and how much has been met
Reimbursement rates for the following CPT codes:
90792 or 99205 for initial evaluation
99213 for medication management, often with 90836 for psychotherapy
Which payment methods are accepted?
Payments may be made via cash, check, credit card, or Zelle. Payment for the initial visit is expected at the time of the appointment.
What is your cancellation policy?
Please let me know at least 48 hours before your scheduled appointment if you need to cancel. If you cancel within 48 hours, the session fee will apply except in cases of emergency.
